The majority of Germans believe that Friedrich Merz will leave the post of German Chancellor before completing his legislative term, which ends in 2029.
Modern.az reports that the results of a survey conducted by the YouGov public opinion research institute on behalf of the DPA news agency show this.
According to the survey results, 36 percent of respondents believe that Merz will still be chancellor in 2026, but will leave his post before the next unscheduled Bundestag elections.
18 percent expect him to leave the post of chancellor this year.
Only 29 percent said that Merz would remain in office until the end of his term - until the next parliamentary elections in 2029.
17 percent of respondents found it difficult to answer the question.
