A call has been made on Iranian state television to collect money for the assassination of US President Donald Trump.
Modern.az reports that on the air of the Iranian TV channel, presenter Maryam Ghasemi asked viewers to donate for a reward for the person who would kill Trump. During the broadcast, it was stated that 81 million tomans, or approximately 435 US dollars, had already been collected for this purpose.
During her speech, Ghasemi also stated that she was waiting to announce the news of Trump's death on air.
The spread of the information attracted attention against the backdrop of already high tensions between Iran and the United States. In recent months, mutual military and political threats between Tehran and Washington have increased.
This is not the first time calls for Trump's assassination have been made. In March, the US Department of Justice announced that Asif Merchant, an employee of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), was involved in a plot to assassinate US political and government officials, including Trump. Merchant was found guilty of conspiracy to commit assassination and attempted act of terrorism in the United States.
In addition, in July, it was reported that the pro-Iranian group called "Islamic Resistance" in Iraq offered a 10 million dollar reward for Trump's assassination.
The latest television broadcast shows that such calls against Trump have resurfaced within Iran.
