The Iranian Security Council reacted to Trump's statements about Iran.
Modern.az reports that Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, spoke about this in an interview with Iranian television.
"Americans thought they could end the war with Iran in a few days and take control of all oil and gas in Iran, as well as in the region. The US no longer hopes to achieve its goals militarily and is now trying to use economic pressure," Rezaei noted.
According to him, Benjamin Netanyahu allegedly promised Donald Trump that keeping Iran under economic blockade for a few months would lead to Tehran's surrender.
He also said that Iran has learned to circumvent restrictions and continue oil exports under years of sanctions.
"The world understood that Trump's threats are empty words," Rezaei said.
