Iran intends to impose restrictions and fines, as well as confiscate vessels that violate established internal rules when passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

Modern.az reports that this was stated in a statement issued by Iran's Shipping Control Authority in the Strait of Hormuz. The document notes: “Vessels that violate the Authority's rules during passage through the Strait of Hormuz will face sanctions such as fines, arrest, or restriction of the right to use the strait in the future and confiscation of the vessel.”

The agency called on ship owners providing maritime services in the Gulf basin to familiarize themselves with the “blacklist of rule violators” to avoid potential problems.

The warning emphasizes that other water transport vehicles cooperating with vessels on that list will also be immediately included in the list of restrictions. Ship owners who wish to have their names removed from this list must submit an official appeal to the relevant management bodies and provide a special request justifying the reasons for the violation.
