German Chancellor Friedrich Merz visited the area where forest fires broke out in the Hürtgenwald region on his first day back from a three-week vacation.
Modern.az reports that during the visit, local residents greeted the chancellor with boos and shouts.
Some raised placards in protest, claiming Merz arrived too late to the area.
In response, the chancellor said: “People who shout do not impress me. I talk to people who work and help.”
