The exchange rate of the US dollar in Iran's free currency market has exceeded 200,000 tomans for the first time, setting a new anti-record for the Iranian currency.
Modern.az reports with reference to local media that the dollar's exchange rate has exceeded 200,000 tomans in the free market. This indicates that the depreciation of the Iranian rial has entered a new phase.
At the same time, the official exchange rate set by the state is significantly lower than the indicator in the free market and amounts to approximately 160,000 tomans.
The record rise of the dollar further increases concerns about inflation and purchasing power in Iran.
