Elections have been held in Gaza after a long break.
Modern.az reports that "Reuters" has released information about this.
According to the information, elections for local government bodies took place in Gaza today, and this process covered the region for the first time in the last 20 years.
It was stated that the Palestinian Authority hopes that participation in the elections will strengthen its claims to power. It is noted that the authority lost control of the region to Hamas after 2007.
According to the information, more than one million Palestinians in total have the right to vote, approximately 70,000 of whom are residents of Gaza.
The results of the elections are expected to be announced on April 26.
