Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was reinstated as the leader of the Republican People's Party (CHP) by court decision, plans to hold the first Assembly meeting on June 1. At the meeting, members of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) will be selected from among the Assembly members, and the distribution of duties among Kılıçdaroğlu's close associates will be determined.
Modern.az reports that Anadolu Agency published this information, citing a source within the CHP.
A meeting of the Party Disciplinary Committee is also planned for June 1. The meeting is expected to discuss internal party disciplinary processes and various expulsion requests.
It should be recalled that the decision adopted at the CHP's 38th congress in 2023 was deemed "absolute invalidity" ("mutlak butlan") by the court. By court decision, Özgür Özel, who was elected chairman of the CHP at the 38th congress, was removed from his post, and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu was reinstated to leadership.
On May 24, Özgür Özel was removed from the party headquarters with police intervention. In an address to his supporters, he said that even if they leave the CHP central headquarters, they will return.
Now, all eyes in Turkey are on Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu: his arrival at the CHP central headquarters is awaited with interest.
