Iran has put forward the return of $12 billion from its frozen assets as a key condition for continuing talks with the United States.
Modern.az reports that Iran's "Fars" agency disseminated this information, citing sources.
According to the agency's interlocutor, the most important point that US President Donald Trump did not mention in his statements is precisely related to the return of a part of Iran's blocked assets.
"The most important part of the agreement is the point that Trump did not mention - $12 billion from Iran's frozen assets must be returned immediately. According to the text of the agreement, this amount must be paid without delay, and until the payment is made, Iran will not enter into additional negotiations," the source said.
It should be recalled that the US president previously stated that a large part of the provisions of the memorandum of understanding being prepared between Washington and Tehran has already been agreed upon.
