Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet again with US President Donald Trump's special representative, Steve Uitkoff, to discuss the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.
Modern.az reports that Uitkoff and Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, arrived in Moscow on September 5 for talks. They are expected to meet with Putin today.
According to the information provided, the first meeting between Putin and Uitkoff regarding the resolution of the Ukrainian conflict was held on April 11, 2025, in St. Petersburg. Later, the parties met again on April 25.
In the next stage, contacts between US and Russian representatives continued. At the meeting held in December 2025, Kushner also participated in talks with Putin along with Uitkoff.
The current visit takes place at a time when negotiations on stopping the war in Ukraine have intensified again. US representatives plan to visit Kyiv after Moscow and meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
US President Donald Trump previously announced that Uitkoff and Kushner were sent to Russia and Ukraine with a new peace proposal.
It should be noted that the Russian side decided not to strike Kyiv for three days starting from September 5, on the eve of the visit of the US representatives. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that this was related to the contacts the American representatives would have in Kyiv.
