Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the main topic of the upcoming parliamentary elections is ending the fight against Iran, “Hezbollah” and Hamas.

Modern.az reports that Netanyahu spoke about this in his speech.

“The main question of these elections is: who will finish the work we started? Who will put an end to this regime in Iran once and for all? Who will put an end to “Hezbollah” once and for all? Who will put an end to Hamas once and for all?” - said the Prime Minister of Israel.

Netanyahu also accused his political rivals of backing down in the face of foreign pressure.

“When America says “no” to them, they immediately back down. Will they do it? No. They won't. We are doing it,” the Prime Minister said.

Netanyahu's statement was made on the eve of the parliamentary elections to be held in Israel on October 27, 2026. The Israeli ruling coalition announced in July that the elections would be held on that date.

The Iran issue has become one of the main security topics of the election campaign. At the end of August, Netanyahu also stated that victory over Iran could lead to the elimination of Hamas and “Hezbollah”.

It should be noted that against the background of recent polls and political processes, Netanyahu is trying to prevent the fragmentation of votes in the right-wing camp before the elections. The participation of small right-wing parties in the elections separately may make it difficult for the bloc he leads to win a parliamentary majority.
