US President Donald Trump told reporters in the Oval Office that, according to his information, Iran's supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei has approved the agreement between Washington and Tehran, which is currently in the final stages of being finalized.

Modern.az reports that Trump, answering journalists' questions, said that, to his knowledge, the answer to the question of whether the Iranian leadership has approved the agreement is positive.

"As I understand it, the answer is yes," the US president said.

Trump also noted that once the agreement is formally finalized, the US will immediately lift the naval blockade imposed on Iranian ports.

"And then oil prices will fall like a rock," the American leader emphasized.

In recent hours, Trump has repeatedly stated that an agreement with Iran is imminent and that the main provisions of the document have already been agreed upon. However, the Iranian authorities have not yet officially confirmed these statements.

According to Bloomberg, the exchange of messages between Tehran and Washington is carried out according to a complex scheme involving couriers, with the location of Iran's supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei kept secret. Problems with the internet in the country have further complicated the situation.

According to the agency, the proposals of US representatives are transmitted through indirect diplomatic channels, and often couriers from the Iranian side are used to keep the location of Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei confidential.

According to sources, communication between the US and Iran resembles a difficult and time-consuming process rather than negotiations; the mutual transmission of messages can sometimes take several days.

Bloomberg notes that the unstable internet connection in Iran during the war has further complicated the process. In some cases, messages sent via WhatsApp took up to 48 hours to deliver.

According to sources, Washington's messages pass through Pakistani officials before being delivered to couriers. They transmit these messages to Tehran during phone calls and personal meetings.

According to the agency's source, US President's special envoy Steve Witkoff maintains a direct communication channel with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, and Washington has frequently used this channel.

In addition, according to Bloomberg, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), dissatisfied with the slow pace of negotiations, decided to hold a face-to-face meeting with Iranian representatives for the first time since the beginning of the conflict.
