The first session of the 9th convocation of the National Assembly of Armenia will begin on August 2 at 10:00.
Modern.az reports that until the Speaker of the Parliament is elected, the meetings will be chaired by Knyaz Hasanov, the oldest MP of the newly elected parliament.
It should be noted that Knyaz Hasanov is one of the prominent representatives of the Yazidi community living in Armenia. He was born on January 17, 1945, in the village of Astghaberd, Kotayk Province, Armenia. He studied political economy at the Marx–Engels–Lenin Institute in Moscow, and later horticulture at the Armenian Agricultural Institute.
He began his career in public administration. For many years he headed the cinema network of Abovyan and Kotayk regions. Since 2007, he has been the editor-in-chief of "Zagros" monthly newspaper, a publication of the Yazidi community.
Knyaz Hasanov was elected to the Armenian Parliament and, as the oldest MP of the 9th convocation of the National Assembly, will chair the first meeting until the Speaker of the Parliament is elected, in accordance with the law.
