The "Strong Armenia" faction represented in the Armenian parliament has announced that it will not nominate its own candidate for the position of Speaker of the National Assembly.
Modern.az reports that the faction leader Narek Karapetyan stated that it is meaningless.
According to him, the faction does not consider a constructive dialogue with the government possible, as it believes that the authorities falsified 58,000 votes in the June 7 elections.
However, Karapetyan emphasized that if the government comes up with a proposal that is in the country's interests, the faction is ready to discuss it.
It should be noted that the IX convocation of the Armenian National Assembly is holding its first meeting today.
