Iran has announced that it does not intend to open the Strait of Hormuz for shipping and that no agreement has been reached with the United States on the resumption of maritime transport.

Modern.az reports, citing Fars news agency sources.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump stated that he had canceled the planned "strong strikes" against Iran amid expectations of reaching an agreement on the settlement of the conflict. According to him, the participants in the negotiations have agreed on the main terms of the agreement. These terms include the immediate and full opening of the Strait of Hormuz, as well as the suspension of Iran's nuclear program.

Meanwhile, Israel's N12 TV channel, citing two diplomats, reported that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi informed mediators last night that Tehran had accepted the US and Oman's proposal to resume shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. According to the report, Araqchi's consent was one of the main reasons why US President Donald Trump abandoned his decision to strike Iran.
