Narek Karapetyan, the head of the "Strong Armenia" faction represented in the Armenian parliament, accused the government of electoral fraud and announced his position on relations with the authorities.

Modern.az reports that Karapetyan explained the reason why the faction did not nominate a candidate for the post of parliament speaker while answering journalists' questions in the parliament.

He stated that the faction is ready to cooperate with the government only on issues that serve the interests of the country.

"The concept of constructive cooperation with a force that falsified 58,000 votes and stopped counting votes at 2 am is relative. But if a useful proposal is put forward for the benefit of the country, we will discuss it," Karapetyan said.

The head of the faction also noted that the deputies elected to the parliament for the first time intend to increase the prestige of the legislative p and form a qualitatively new political environment in the country.

Answering a question about Catholicos Garegin II not being invited to the first session of the parliament, Karapetyan said that the faction's position on this issue will become clear during the session.
