Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not attend the funeral and farewell ceremony of Iran's late leader Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

Modern.az reports that Modi had a phone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on June 30.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian invited Narendra Modi to attend the funeral ceremony in Tehran. However, the Indian Prime Minister did not respond positively.

According to the information, India will be represented at the funeral ceremony by a delegation led by the Governor of Bihar state, retired Lieutenant General Syed Ata Hasnain. The delegation will also include India's Minister of State for External Affairs, Pabitra Margherita.
