Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif thanked US President Donald Trump for his support for the "Mecca Joint Defense Agreement" signed between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
Modern.az reports that Shahbaz Sharif stated that within the framework of the agreement, the three countries will play a "constructive role" in ensuring the security of both their own states and the region as a whole.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan also praised Donald Trump's "courageous and decisive leadership".
It should be noted that Donald Trump stated in his post on the "Truth Social" platform that he was "very pleased" that Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan "finally" signed the agreement.
The US President called the agreement a "big, bold and important first step". He noted that the agreement shows that the Middle East is coming together and that the countries of the region can defend themselves "more effectively".
It should be recalled that, according to the agreement signed on August 7, an armed attack against any of the three countries will be considered an attack against all of them.
This step taken by three of the world's largest Muslim-majority economies to strengthen security cooperation comes at a time of increasing military tension and conflicts in the Middle East.
