Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan of the Armenian Apostolic Church has sued Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Modern.az reports, citing Armenian media, that information about this has been posted on the Datalex court information system.
According to the lawsuit, the archbishop demands a public retraction of a statement made by Pashinyan on June 11.
The statement in question is the Prime Minister's assertion that the votes for the ruling "Civil Contract" Party were "100 percent organic (natural) votes," while other political forces gathered votes by bribing voters.
Bagrat Galstanyan believes that this statement infringes upon his honor and dignity as a voter who cast his vote for another political force, and is defamatory.
The archbishop also demanded that the court collect the state fee from Pashinyan, as well as compensation of 49.7 drams for moral damages.
