Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu complained to US President Donald Trump about the escalation of Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan's anti-Tel Aviv rhetoric.
Modern.az reports that Israeli and US officials told “Axios”.
According to officials, Netanyahu also asked Trump, who will meet with Erdogan within the framework of the NATO summit in Ankara this week, to refrain from selling weapons systems that could help modernize the Turkish air force.
Tensions between Israel and Turkey have risen sharply in the last two years amid wars around Gaza and Iran. However, Trump maintains close friendships with both Netanyahu and Erdogan, one of the US's key allies in the region.
