A claim has been made regarding security risks related to the funeral ceremony of Iran's late Supreme Religious Leader Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
Modern.az reports that, according to information released by the German publication "Die Welt", a confidential letter from the Iranian Red Crescent Society obtained by journalists predicts that 1500-3000 people could die during the mourning ceremonies.
According to the information, in connection with this, the Iranian authorities have established a special operational headquarters. Also, thousands of new graves have been prepared in Behesht-e Zahra, the country's largest cemetery near Tehran.
According to an employee of the Tehran city administration, it is impossible to predict how the situation will develop due to the massive influx of people and extremely hot weather.
It should be recalled that at the funeral ceremony of Qassem Soleimani, according to official data, 56 people died and hundreds were injured as a result of the crowd. The funeral ceremony of Ruhollah Khomeini also resulted in human casualties.
