The opposition bloc "Armenia" led by Robert Kocharyan announced that it will accept its mandates in the newly elected parliament.

Modern.az reports that in a statement published on Facebook, the bloc considered parliamentary activity as a continuation of the political struggle against the government.

The statement notes that the Armenian Constitutional Court's upholding of the election results does not eliminate the objections to the election process and does not resolve questions about the legitimacy of the formed government.

It should be recalled that in the parliamentary elections held on June 7, the "Civil Contract" Party led by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan won with 49.7 percent of the votes. Kocharyan's "Armenia" bloc gathered 9.9 percent of the votes.

The first session of the new parliament is scheduled to be held on August 2.
