Turkey's initiatives to resume the negotiation process between Russia and Ukraine will be one of the main topics of the planned meeting between Turkish and US Presidents Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Donald Trump in Ankara on Tuesday.

Speaking on June 29, Erdogan noted the importance of achieving concrete results in the near future through dialogue to resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
"Turkey's initiatives to resume negotiations on the resolution of the conflict will be included in the agenda of the meeting between Erdogan and Trump in Ankara," the agency's interlocutor said.
In 2025, Russia and Ukraine held three direct rounds of talks in Istanbul. The result of these talks was an exchange of prisoners. In addition, Russia handed over the bodies of fallen servicemen from the Ukrainian side to the Kyiv side. The parties also exchanged draft memorandums on the resolution of the conflict.
