"My thoughts about Baku are very positive."
Modern.az reports with reference to Offsideplus.az that these words were said by Gagik Khachatryan, the head coach of the Armenian U17 national team, in a statement to journalists.
He said that the organization in Baku was at a high level: "I have been working as a coach for many years and we have not always been welcomed like this. Everything here is precisely organized - coordination, organization of the competition, the general work process. Simply, everything is at a high level. I was in Baku when I was 20 years old. I wrestled here at that time. But that period was completely different. Now Baku has developed a lot.
The fans were also friendly towards us, they supported fair play. The refereeing was also at the highest level."
The coach also evaluated the performance of the Armenian team:
"Today we had one finalist and one bronze medalist. In addition, one of our athletes took fifth place. Tomorrow, two more of our athletes will compete in consolation matches to advance to the final stage."
It should be noted that nearly 700 young wrestlers from more than 60 countries are participating in the world championship held at the National Gymnastics Arena. Azerbaijan is represented by 29 athletes in the tournament.
