Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia has lost 700,000 soldiers in the war, while Ukraine has lost approximately 50,000 soldiers.
Modern.az reports that Zelensky spoke about this in an interview with the American TV channel Fox News.
Answering a journalist's question about Russia's losses, the Ukrainian leader stated that the total losses of the Russian army during the war reached 1 million 600 thousand people.
"Their losses are 1 million 600 thousand. Approximately 700 thousand have died," Zelensky emphasized.
Speaking about the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the president noted that he does not want to be completely open on this issue. He stated that such information could give Russia the opportunity to assess the state of the Ukrainian army.
Nevertheless, Zelensky revealed the figures for the Ukrainian side's losses.
"Approximately 50,000 of our soldiers have died. We have approximately 400,000 wounded. In addition, there are a large number of missing servicemen," he said.
It should be noted that, according to "The New York Times" newspaper, the total number of dead and wounded servicemen from both sides during Russia's war against Ukraine has exceeded 2 million.
It should be recalled that Zelensky announced in February 2024 that 31,000 Ukrainian servicemen had died, and in February 2026, 55,000 servicemen had died.
