Iran has not been the initiator of the war with the US and continues to consider diplomacy and negotiations as the main way to resolve differences.
Modern.az reports that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said this at a meeting held in the “SCO+” format.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran has not been the initiator of the war. On the contrary, it has defended itself,” Pezeshkian said.
The Iranian President emphasized that his country considers diplomacy and negotiations as the main way to resolve differences.
“At the same time, Iran considers diplomacy and negotiations as the main way to resolve differences. However, without goodwill, respect for commitments, and refraining from the use of force, diplomacy is not capable of ensuring lasting peace,” Pezeshkian added.
He noted that effective guarantees must be provided for the implementation of the agreements reached.
