The death toll from the powerful floods in Nepal has reached 1287, with 5083 people considered missing.
Modern.az reports that “Nepal Samaya” disseminated this information, citing the country's authorities.
According to the publication, 1287 bodies have been found so far as a result of the catastrophic flood in the Bhote-Kosi River in Rasuwa district.
“5083 people are considered missing as a result of the flood and disaster. Of them, 2130 are from Rasuwa, 2340 are from Nuwakot, and 583 are foreign citizens,” the report states.
The flood engulfed the northern districts of Nepal on the morning of August 26. This was caused by a strong flow of water from China pouring into the Bhote-Kosi River.
The powerful mudslide was caused by a glacier breaking off, followed by a landslide.
