It has been announced that talks on stopping the Russia-Ukraine war may resume at the end of September.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Kirill Budanov, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, in an interview with “The New York Times” newspaper.
According to him, negotiations mediated by the administration of US President Donald Trump may be back on the agenda after the parliamentary elections in Russia. Budanov said that a possible new round could start in late September.
The Ukrainian official also cited the visit of Trump's representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Kyiv as one of the possible reasons for the resumption of negotiations.
However, according to Budanov, real conditions for a ceasefire will be formed in the spring of 2027.
“Negotiations will lead to something sooner or later. One cannot wage war for a lifetime,” Budanov said.
According to “The New York Times”, the Russian side also offered the Ukrainian delegation to continue the dialogue in Moscow after one of the previous rounds of negotiations.
