In 2025, the number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling to foreign countries through travel agents and tour operators reached a record high.
Modern.az reports that this information is included in the "Tourism in Azerbaijan" collection of the State Statistical Committee.
According to the information, last year 75,746 Azerbaijani citizens traveled abroad through tourism companies. This is 951 people or 1.3 percent more compared to 2024. The total travel duration of Azerbaijani tourists abroad was 505,652 tour-days. This indicator was 470,796 tour-days a year ago.
The most visited country was again Turkey. Thus, in 2025, 56,911 Azerbaijani citizens traveled to Turkey through tourism companies. Their total travel duration was 413,932 tour-days.
After Turkey, Egypt holds a special place among the most visited destinations. Last year, 5,991 people visited this country, and their travel duration was 45,729 tour-days. For comparison, in 2024, 2,658 people visited Egypt. Thus, the number of tourists in this direction increased by 2.3 times within a year.
Last year, 5,844 Azerbaijani citizens visited other countries, 1,144 to the United Arab Emirates, 619 to Italy, 592 to Russia, 554 to Uzbekistan, and 481 to India.
At the same time, a slight decrease was recorded in the number of visits to Turkey. Thus, while 57,238 people visited this country in 2024, this figure was 56,911 people in 2025.
Statistics show that in recent years, the number of Azerbaijani citizens' trips abroad through tourism companies is rapidly increasing. Thus, in 2022, this indicator was 15,659 people, in 2023, 28,229 people, and in 2024, 74,795 people. In 2025, for the first time, the number of organized foreign trips exceeded 75,000 people.
