Zeynep Yıldız, a deputy of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), spoke at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and sharply criticized the organization's biased and double-standard policy against Azerbaijan.

Modern.az reports that in her speech, the Turkish deputy reminded the charter of the Council of Europe and stated that the main goal of the institution is to achieve closer unity among member states. However, she emphasized that the current environment acts completely contrary to these principles:

"The current environment in the Assembly unfairly targets some members while leaving others unquestioned. The rules of the Council of Europe should apply equally to everyone."

Zeynep Yıldız drew attention to these deliberately created contradictions, reminding that immediately after Azerbaijan restored its territorial integrity, the credentials of Azerbaijani deputies were unfairly put up for discussion and they were forced to be removed from the institution. She emphasized that taking such a step at a time when Baku remains committed to dialogue with neighboring countries is unacceptable.
