Drivers who organized a speed race on the 14th kilometer of the Baku–Shamakhi highway have been detained.
The Main State Traffic Police Department provided information on this matter to Modern.az.
It was reported that the Main State Traffic Police Department immediately launched an investigation regarding the images circulated on social networks concerning the gross violation of road traffic rules.
It was determined that on January 23, 2026, a speed race was organized between a "Chevrolet Cobalt" brand car with state registration plate 90-YD-792, driven by X. Humbatov, and a car of the same brand with state registration plate 90-YH-208, driven by R. Gadimov, creating a real danger for road users.
In connection with the incident, both drivers were detained by Road Patrol Service employees, and measures were taken against them in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.
