President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on May 18.
Modern.az reports that the head of state expressed his gratitude to Shavkat Mirziyoyev for participating in the 13th session of the World Urban Forum and noted that the presence of the President of Uzbekistan here is an indicator of the fraternal and friendly relations between the two states and peoples.
Recalling his meetings with Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President Ilham Aliyev said that the projects discussed during these meetings have been implemented.
The head of state also noted the construction of the Uzbekistan park in Baku.
Expressing his satisfaction at being in friendly and fraternal Azerbaijan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the head of state on the holding of the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum in Baku, emphasized that this event provided an opportunity to discuss important global issues dedicated to urban planning, and thanked for the invitation.
The head of state expressed his gratitude for the congratulations.
The President of Uzbekistan, who said that he witnesses development during each of his visits to our country, emphasized with satisfaction that Azerbaijan is building new cities and villages in Karabakh and assessed this as successes achieved under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that the successes achieved by our country under the leadership of our head of state, the Victory gained in the Patriotic War, are the result of President Ilham Aliyev's efforts and his love for the Motherland and the people.
Thanking for the kind words, our head of state noted the support shown by the President of Uzbekistan in the restoration of Karabakh. In this regard, it was emphasized that the Mirzə Uluqbəy No. 1 full secondary school built by Uzbekistan in Fuzuli was the first gift in the process of restoring Karabakh. President Ilham Aliyev assessed this as the embodiment of brotherhood, support and solidarity.
During the conversation, the visits of the President of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan and the President of Uzbekistan to our country, as well as their meetings, were recalled with satisfaction.
In accordance with the instructions given by the heads of state, the economic projects implemented between the two countries were reviewed once again, and satisfaction was expressed with their implementation. In this regard, projects in energy, mining industry, agriculture, machine-building industry, pharmaceuticals and other fields were touched upon.
Emphasizing that the relations between our countries are of a strategic alliance nature, it was noted with satisfaction that cooperation is successfully developing in all areas.
