The European Union (EU) is preparing to take more drastic steps in the fight against illegal migration.
Modern.az reports with reference to "Politico" that representatives of the European Parliament, the European Commission and the EU Council approved the text of a new agreement providing for the tightening of migration policy on June 1.
According to the new rules, deportation processes from the EU will be both accelerated and their number will be significantly increased. One of the most striking points of the agreement is the permission to deport migrants to special centers to be created outside the borders of the union.
The document in question must be officially ratified by the European Parliament and the EU Council in the coming days. These new rules are expected to be part of a large-scale migration reform that will come into force on June 12.
