Azerbaijan has decided to introduce a unilateral visa-free regime for Japanese citizens for a period of one year.
Modern.az reports that this was stated in a joint statement issued after the meeting between Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi.
According to the information, the Japanese side welcomed the decision made to promote tourism and further expand economic, humanitarian and cultural ties.
The parties also confirmed that cooperation will continue to facilitate mutual visits of their citizens and develop people-to-people contacts.
It should be noted that the decision is considered one of the steps taken to develop Azerbaijan-Japan relations and expand cooperation between the two countries.
