US President Donald Trump described his relationship with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as a "very close friendship" and said that Turkey has significantly strengthened militarily in recent years.
Modern.az reports that during his speech, Donald Trump emphasized that Turkey has achieved significant success under Erdogan's leadership.
"President (Erdogan) has done an incredible job. Under his leadership, Turkey has become a very strong military country. People don't know how strong they actually are. They have excellent soldiers," the US president said.
Trump noted that during the upcoming meeting between the parties, trade relations, as well as military cooperation and other issues of mutual interest will be discussed.
"Today we will talk about trade. At the same time, we will also discuss military issues and various other matters," he added.
