Iran's supreme religious leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, stated that taking revenge for his father, the late supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, is "the demand of the Iranian people."
Modern.az reports that Mojtaba Khamenei's written address was published on his Telegram channel.
The address was released on the occasion of the funeral ceremonies for Ali Khamenei, who died as a result of air strikes carried out by the US and Israel on February 28.
"We promise to avenge the blood of our martyred leader and all the martyrs who lost their lives in these two wars from the criminal and disgraced murderers," Khamenei said.
He added that taking revenge for his father is "the demand of the people" and emphasized that it will definitely be carried out.
"Whether we are here or not, this will happen. People fighting for freedom in different parts of the world will fulfill a part of this divine mission," he noted.
