The European Commission has proposed a draft law banning children under 13 from using social networks and restricting access to social platforms for teenagers aged 13-15.
Modern.az reports that the proposal was put forward by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.
According to the initiative, children under 13 will not be allowed to use social networks, and certain restrictions will be applied to teenagers aged 13-15.
In addition, new obligations are proposed for social networks, video platforms, online games, and AI-based chatbots that provide services to individuals under 18.
The aim of the European Commission's initiative is to increase the safety of children in the online environment and protect them from age-inappropriate content.
