Giorgi Zakaraşvili has been appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Azerbaijan.
Modern.az reports with reference to the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs that Zakaraşvili has long-term work experience in the central apparatus of the Ministry and in the country's diplomatic missions.
He served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Ukraine and also as Permanent Representative of Georgia to GUAM since 2021.
From 2016 to 2019, he held the position of Minister Plenipotentiary in the Georgian Interests Section at the Embassy of the Swiss Confederation in the Russian Federation. From 2012 to 2016, he was Minister Plenipotentiary at the Georgian Embassy in Ukraine and its permanent representation to GUAM.
In various years, Giorgi Zakaraşvili also served as Director of the Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and Head of the Department for Relations with Central Asian Countries.
He holds the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
