Spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ismail Baghaei, denied reports by Western media that 30,000 people died during protests in the Islamic Republic.

Modern.az reports that he wrote this statement on the X social media platform.

Ismail Baghaei called the disseminated news a lie in the style of Hitler.

A day earlier, the American magazine "Time" claimed, citing high-ranking officials of the Iranian Ministry of Health, that the number of deaths in the mass protests on January 8 and 9 could reach 30,000.
On January 23, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated that more than 3,000 people had died as a result of the unrest in the Islamic Republic.
