Baku and Yerevan provided significant assistance in the evacuation of Russian citizens from Iran.
Modern.az reports that Aleksey Klimov, director of the Consular Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated this in an interview with TASS.
"Armenia and Azerbaijan provided great assistance in the evacuation of our compatriots from Iran. Thus, Baku allowed Russian citizens to use the "Astara" border crossing point, which has been closed for individual passage since 2020, based on a request previously submitted by the Russian Embassy in Tehran," the diplomat noted.
