The armed struggle with the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) has cost Turkey 2 trillion dollars.
Modern.az reports that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated this during his speech in parliament.
According to him, the process of disarming the PKK, which began last year, will allow Turkey to accelerate its economic growth.
After the disarmament of the Kurds, the country's authorities plan to take steps in the political, socio-economic and infrastructure spheres, especially in the southeastern regions of the country.
Erdogan emphasized that the current stage of the struggle requires special caution, and with the support of political parties, the country will be able to pass this stage without shocks.
