Five supporters of businessman Samvel Karapetyan's "Strong Armenia" party have been arrested in connection with a criminal case related to election bribery.
Modern.az reports that the Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia released information about this.
The information stated that the Anti-Corruption Committee obtained reliable information that a group of people acting on behalf of the "Strong Armenia" party gave election bribes to a number of citizens in exchange for voting for the mentioned political force in the parliamentary elections to be held in June.
The Committee added that the investigation also determined that the person acting on behalf of "Strong Armenia" violated the charity ban during the elections and incited citizens to participate in rallies.
The Anti-Corruption Committee added that a criminal case has been opened under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, a number of searches have been conducted, and five people have been detained.
