US President Donald Trump answered “No” to a question about whether the conflict with Iran was over in an interview with NBC News.
According to Modern.az, Trump said:
“The conflict is not over yet. But we have certainly achieved a military victory. We must force people in Iran to come out of the caves and sign something.
We really control the Strait of Hormuz. And we have taken this business from them. No ships are coming to Iran.”
In his opinion, more important than an immediate cessation of the conflict is reaching an agreement that best suits US interests.
“If this prevents me from concluding the most favorable agreement, I don't want to finish the job. There is another approach: destroy the country and keep the oil for yourself. This depends on the circumstances,” Trump said.
