The US is discussing opportunities for cooperation with Greenland in the field of natural resource development.
Modern.az reports that “The New York Times” wrote about this, citing sources in Washington, Copenhagen and Greenland.
According to the information, Washington is particularly interested in Greenland's richness in oil, uranium, rare earth metals and other strategic minerals. The US also intends to maintain its military presence on the island indefinitely.
It was noted that Washington is trying to obtain veto power over large investment projects, thereby limiting the influence of rivals such as Russia and China.
