The number of people likely to be infected with Ebola fever in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has exceeded 900.
Modern.az reports that France24 TV channel spread information about this.
Previously, 700 probable cases of infection were reported in the country. According to official statistics, the number of deaths has been reduced from the previously announced 170 people to 119 people.
According to the information, the main focus of the disease remains Ituri province. Separate cases of infection have also been recorded in North Kivu and South Kivu provinces.
One of the main factors complicating the situation is that part of these territories is under the control of the Congolese government, and the other part is under the control of armed groups.
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies stated that the Ebola epidemic is spreading in communities already facing instability, population displacement, and a weak healthcare system.
