The situation in the South Caucasus will be one of the main topics of discussion at the meeting between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and US President Donald Trump.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz.
According to him, one of the issues that will take a special place on the leaders' agenda will be the Zangezur corridor.
"We are very close to signing a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan," Yılmaz emphasized.
The Vice President stated that, in Ankara's opinion, the opening of the Zangezur corridor will further strengthen Turkey's relations with Central Asia and make an important contribution to the development of the Middle Corridor.
Cevdet Yılmaz added that Turkey and the US have similar positions on South Caucasus issues.
It should be noted that Donald Trump is already in Ankara to attend the NATO Summit. Currently, Trump's official welcoming ceremony is being held at the presidential residence. A bilateral meeting will begin after the ceremony.
