Turkey's population increased by 228,434 people in the first half of 2026, reaching 86,320,602 as of July 1.
Modern.az reports, citing Turkish media, that according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), men constitute 50.01 percent of the country's population, while women make up 49.99 percent.
Thus, the number of men in Turkey slightly exceeded the number of women.
Turkey's population, which was 86,092,168 at the beginning of 2026, increased by 228,434 people in six months.
The share of men in the country's population was 50.01 percent, and the share of women was 49.99 percent. This indicator shows that the population distribution by gender is almost equal.
