Pakistan's former Prime Minister Imran Khan has been returned to prison after being hospitalized.
Modern.az reports, citing AFP, that the 73-year-old politician was transferred back to prison after being taken to the hospital for treatment.
Imran Khan has been in custody since August 2023. His supporters claim that a number of charges brought against the former Prime Minister are politically motivated. Khan has repeatedly stated that the cases against him are being used as a means of political pressure.
The former Prime Minister of Pakistan was unable to participate in the 2024 parliamentary elections due to his imprisonment. The candidates of his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party participated in the election as independent candidates.
Imran Khan's detention remains one of the main issues on Pakistan's political agenda. His supporters demand the politician's release, while the authorities state that court decisions are being implemented.
