The number of deaths from Ebola fever in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has reached 2,476.
According to Modern.az, this was stated in the daily report of the DRC National Institute of Public Health. The information is also confirmed by the latest data from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).
According to the report, the number of confirmed cases of infection has risen to 5,208.
"In the last 24 hours, 103 new infections, 35 deaths and 24 recoveries have been recorded. This brings the total number of infections since the beginning of the epidemic to 5,208 and the number of deaths to 2,476," the report said.
Previously, 5,021 infections and 2,378 deaths were reported.
It should be noted that the current Ebola epidemic is considered the most severe in the history of the DRC and is caused by the Bundibugyo virus.
