Iran may consider changing its nuclear doctrine and withdrawing from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty if it feels a large-scale military threat from the US.

Modern.az reports that Ibrahim Rezaei, spokesman for the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian Parliament, stated this in an interview with Al-Mayadeen TV channel.

According to him, if a large-scale military threat arises from the US, one of Iran's response options could be to withdraw from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

He added that official Tehran may also consider reviewing its nuclear doctrine if it feels a threat to Iran's existence.

Ibrahim Rezaei also claimed that Iran did not use most of its capabilities during the recent war in the region. He appealed to the Persian Gulf countries supporting US President Donald Trump, advising them to be concerned about their oil and gas fields.
